Grapes: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Sousão
Wine-growing year: Exceptional year, one of the most extraordinary harvests in memory in the Douro.
The winter was rainy, especially in December, and the spring was hot and dry. The summer was cool and dry, except at the end of August and beginning of September, with rising temperatures.
Viticulture: Vineyards of red grape varieties from the Quinta. Bilateral cordon training and heel pruning.
Harvest: This Vintage was produced with very ripe and balanced grapes, harvested manually at the end of October, with a very careful selection.
Vinification: After manual harvesting, the grapes were carefully inspected and de-stemmed. An intense maceration was then carried out for the first 48 hours to extract all the good components from the skins, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks with temperature control.
Stage: In stainless steel and passing through wood
Tasting: It is a wine of great strength both in aroma - very fruity and with mentholated touches, and in taste - very soft and round, full and intense, with a long and very fresh finish.
