António José Ribeiro Saramago was born in Vila Nogueira de Azeitão in 1948, and from a very early age he demonstrated a passion for the world of wine, with the influence of his father, José Maria Saramago, winemaker at the José Maria da Fonseca company for 42 years. With more than 200 awards won, many of his wines have been highly appreciated by the national and international specialty press, with Jancis Robinson and Robert Parker standing out in the latter.
