TASTING NOTES
The first wine from the 2023 harvest pays tribute to our land, our soil, where more than 80% of our vineyards grow. Here, our vineyards found their birthplace in schist soil that until 350 million years ago was the seabed and where fossils of sea creatures called trilobites, which lived here long before the dinosaurs themselves, still abound.
The trilobite fossil chosen to illustrate this limited series of 15 thousand bottles of Vinho Verde red Vinhão, thus represents all this mineral wealth, the ancestry of these soils and the brutal mutation to which they have been subjected. It also reminds us that we are still at the beginning of our journey as a species and that we must respect the land so that future generations can enjoy it equally.
Appearance: Ruby red colour with a strong concentration.
Nose: Fresh and very fruity aromas reminiscent of plums and very ripe wild blackberries.
In the mouth: Strong, dense and concentrated structure. Tannins are very present, but soft and well incorporated into the whole. Not astringent. Traditional wine with a contemporary profile.
