In 2016, Vallado ABF was launched. This is a limited edition (933 numbered bottles) of a unique wine, produced in 1888 and bottled to celebrate 300 years of Quinta do Vallado. The name ABF is a tribute to the ancestor of the current owners of the Quinta, António Bernardo Ferreira, who in 1818 bought Quinta do Vallado.
Aroma
This extraordinary Port Wine immediately presents an extremely seductive color reminiscent of mahogany, with hints of green when the glass is shaken, a clear and obvious sign of the wine's age. The aroma is very complex and rich with numerous nuances of dried fruits (figs, plums), vinegar, iodine and spices, with a very fresh and harmonious finish.
Varieties
This wine was made from pre-phylloxeric vines, as such it comes from a mixture of varieties typical of the Douro region: Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Touriga Nacional, and many others.
Proof
The mouth confirms and reaffirms the tremendous freshness promised by the nose. Although the wine is extremely rich, unctuous, concentrated and dense, it ends with an acidity that produces a perfect harmony and gives an explosive and endless aftertaste, making it seem like the wine doesn't want to go away.
Internship
This wine aged throughout its long life in wooden casks with a capacity of 650L.
